CARBOTRIX is MIN-TEC's dedicated product brand for Carbon Interstage Screen Systems, developed for gold processing plants operating in Carbon-in-Leach (CIL) and Carbon-in-Pulp (CIP) circuits.
Designed to retain activated carbon within the process while allowing slurry to pass through, CARBOTRIX screen systems are developed with a focus on reliable operation, effective carbon retention, and appropriate hydraulic performance.
Drawing on different equipment configurations, engineering approaches, and manufacturing experience, MIN-TEC has developed three Carbon Interstage Screen models to address different process requirements and operating conditions.
Our objective is to deliver reliable equipment through sound engineering, practical design, and quality manufacturing.

MIN-TEC offers three Carbon Interstage Screen models, each developed around a distinct equipment configuration and design approach.

The Conventional Model represents the original configuration in MIN-TEC's Carbon Interstage Screen product range.
Developed around an established screening arrangement, this model provides a practical solution for retaining activated carbon in gold processing circuits.
Its design focuses on functional simplicity, effective screening, and reliable operation in demanding process environments.

The CARBOTRIX MPS model features a different mechanical and hydraulic configuration, incorporating an integrated internal mixing and screening arrangement.
Its design and engineering development focus on the interaction between the internal rotating components, slurry circulation, and screening process.
Mechanical and hydraulic design studies support the evaluation of its operating characteristics and equipment performance.

The CARBOTRIX MPSP model represents another configuration within the CARBOTRIX product family.
Its development has involved detailed engineering studies, mechanical calculations, hydraulic investigations, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling.
These studies provide a better understanding of internal flow behavior and support the engineering evaluation and development of the equipment.

As part of the engineering development of CARBOTRIX screen systems, MIN-TEC has conducted advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling in collaboration with academic specialists.
The study focused on investigating the internal hydraulic behavior of the equipment, providing insight into flow patterns, velocity distribution, and the interaction between internal components and slurry flow.
The numerical modeling incorporated a porous media approach to represent the hydraulic characteristics of the wedge wire screening structure.
Through this approach, the internal flow behavior could be investigated in relation to the equipment geometry and screening configuration.
CFD modeling provides valuable engineering insight, supporting design evaluation and further product development.
At MIN-TEC, computational analysis is used alongside engineering calculations and practical design experience to better understand equipment behavior and support continuous engineering development.

Visualization of the equipment geometry and computational domain used in the numerical study.

Investigation of velocity distribution and internal flow behavior within the equipment.

Visualization of flow paths and circulation patterns to support the evaluation of hydraulic behavior.

Selected numerical results illustrating the hydraulic behavior of the equipment.
